The Forest Grove wrestling team is off to a promising start. Even though the weather has gotten in the way of many of their early competitions, they have been practicing hard. So far the men’s and women’s teams are looking very strong with many competitors returning along with some new blood for both teams.

On the men’s side, seniors Quentin Oppenlander, Isaac Graham, Norberto Lopez, and Lucas Higginbotham are all returners and strong leaders on the team. Lucas Higginbotham is excited for what the season has in store due to all the new and returning wrestlers. He is always impressed with their constant “hard work, devotion, and ability to rise to the occasion.”

Women’s wrestling in Oregon is continuing to expand and Forest Grove’s team is no exception. Led by senior Atziri Cruz, they have seen an increase in team members the last few years and are expected to continue growing.
The next home competition is January 12th against West Salem. All the men and women on the team have been hard at work preparing for this season. Come out, support them, and watch some great matches!
