Airport Cost for Traveling and Safety

As the holidays approach, many people are starting to book flights. As a result, the cost of plane tickets will increase. According to CNBC, “Demand for air travel is on the rise ahead of the holidays. So are the costs. Jet fuel hasn’t been this expensive since 2014,” which means that due to people wanting to travel via airplane, the cost of jet fuel will increase. Due to Covid-19, many airports had to close down sometime in the past two years. They had been losing a lot of money, which is another reason why plane tickets are now more expensive.

How to Prepare for Holiday Shopping

Many people like to get their holiday shopping done early so they don’t have to worry about it later. As a result, there has been an increase of 1.7% in retail sales since October. Also, many stores like Best Buy, Target, Walmart, etc. have started their Black Friday sales early this November so customers have extra time to shop for gifts while there are good deals available. Some people begin to shop early for the holidays because “If you start early, you may find some deals and [you] will be able to compare prices with no pressure,” which explains that there might actually be better deals at stores before the holidays rather than when the holidays are closer and when other people are shopping at the last minute.

Covid Updates

On October 29, 2021, the FDA approved the Pfizer-BioNTech Covid-19 vaccine for children 5 through 11 years of age. What does this mean? This means that children who are 5-years-old or older are now eligible to get the covid vaccine. According to Acting FDA Commissioner Janet Woodcock, M.D., “As a mother and a physician, I know that parents, caregivers, school staff, and children have been waiting for today’s authorization. Vaccinating younger children against COVID-19 will bring us closer to returning to a sense of normalcy. Our comprehensive and rigorous evaluation of the data pertaining to the vaccine’s safety and effectiveness should help assure parents and guardians that this vaccine meets our high standards,” which suggests that children who are eligible for the vaccine should get vaccinated so that things can start going back to normal and so that they can protect other people just as other people are protecting them by being vaccinated.

Stores Closing

On holidays, stores tend to close so employees can also celebrate the holidays. What does this mean? This means that many stores will be closed or will be closing (hours may vary) on Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas, New Year’s Eve, and New Year’s Day. Due to this, many people are going to go grocery shopping a day before the holidays so they can get everything they need in time before it’s too late. Some stores may open during the holidays but will have a limited schedule (hours may vary). To know when your store will be closing or opening, make sure you search up the store names and look at their hours of operation. For further questions, you may want to call them and ask for more information. Happy holidays!!!
