The pandemic that has swept over the world, referring to the Coronavirus or COVID-19. The virus has so far taken 1.07 Million lives and continues to take lives every day. Many people think that COVID-19 originated in Wuhan China; at something called a wet market (a place where wild animals and other foods are sold). Although this theory has been proven wrong, scientists still don’t know how it started. They also have had no luck finding a vaccine to cure it but are continuing to search. As for symptoms of covid, they vary for many people, but here is a list of the most common symptoms:

Mild symptoms can include fatigue, nausea, congestion, fever, body aches, and even diarrhea.

Severe symptoms include pressure in the chest, sudden confusion, shortness of breath, and difficulty in sleep.

Alert medical care if you’re experiencing any or all of these symptoms!

At the moment scientists are racing to find a cure for the Coronavirus. Usually, vaccines take years of testing, but we don’t have years, we need a vaccine now. Around 44 vaccines have been tested on humans. Making it a total of 91 vaccines tested on humans and animals.. Although scientists haven’t found a miracle cure yet, we should expect to see something be made soon. They are trying to find a vaccine that will stimulate the immune system to produce enough antibodies to fight off the virus.

Coronaviruses are groups of RNA Viruses that can cause diseases in mammals, such as humans and birds.  All animals have experienced different symptoms of the virus. It can cause respiratory tract infections. In some cases, humans can get SARS or MERS due to the COVID-19 outbreak.

Coronavirus is spread through respiratory droplets when the infected person coughs, sneezes, or talks within 6 feet apart from another person. Not everyone is vulnerable to the virus, it occurs mostly in children and the elderly, but anyone can catch it. Coronavirus attacks your immune system.  The reason why the elderly and children are more susceptible is due to their weaker immune systems.

The first signs of the virus in the US appeared on January 20, 2020 in Washington and it rapidly spread to other states, each state piling up cases and deaths every day. There have been 7.7 Million reported cases and 214 thousand total deaths in the US. Many people believe that this is only the beginning of the outbreak and that we will see a second wave of this pandemic very soon. This is predicted because there are so many people not following the mandatory wearing of masks, staying 6 feet apart, and avoiding large gatherings. This virus has distressed the world.

Large numbers of people are out of jobs and filing unemployment. A decrease in physical shopping, eating out and lack of physical enjoyment has caused harm to the economy. Fairs, markets, and more have been canceled due to COVID-19. It has become more difficult for parents to go to work because school has been canceled for months now which causes kids to be at home all day with no supervision. This virus has and will continue to impact people’s lives every day.
