3-year old boy Ryker Web got lost in the Montana woods for two days, then mysteriously found safe. Ryker’s case has been catching the internet’s attention with a famous photo of him with a shocked face after being found.
On June 3, 2022, it was in the middle of summer. Ryker was playing outside with his family’s dog in the yard of their home on Highway 56 south of Troy, Montana. His dad was outside with Ryker but then went inside the house to go grab something, leaving little Ryker outside in the capable hands of their dog. Several minutes later his dad came back outside and was pretty stunt to see that Ryker wasn’t there anymore. He noticed that his dog was acting anxious, which also meant that his dog did not follow Ryker. Immediately, Ryker’s dad started to look for him in the front yard, the backyard, the woodline, everywhere where he could get himself. The dad started to call out for his son, calling out his name, but Ryker was nowhere to be found. There were no signs of Ryker or a trace of him if he just vanished.
Ryker’s dad called Ryker’s mom letting her know what happened, and then they immediately contacted the sheriff department of Lincoln County 2 hours after Ryker went missing. The search for Ryker began, and a search team of 50 volunteers and policemen sat out trying to find Ryker. They were looking for Ryker near his house and the neighborhood, also they looked for any footprints, toys, bugs, or anything that would lead to him. The police brought in smelling dogs, drones, and even a helicopter to search for Ryker. Little 3-year-old Ryker was wearing a jumpsuit with dinosaurs on it, with ginger hair and blue eyes. The group started 3 hours with what was left of the summer sun and they had to call it quits since a massive huge thunderstorm hit the area with lightning and thunder. The dogs went home, the drone went home and the helicopter went home, just a few policemen on foot left a search that night. The places they were searching were the immediate wooded areas near the web residence, these areas were known to have wildlife such as bears and mountain lions patrolling them.
On June 4, 2022, the search restarted and it was great weather, this time the volunteers considered searching this specific area in the woods outside of the neighborhood the Web’s lived in. When they were searching that area they found piles of rocks that Ryker might have been carrying with him. There was no sense of direction or trail, but it was the first clue that Ryker was there. This specific section of woods led down to the south border of Lincoln County to a town called Sanders County. After the entire day, Ryker was nowhere to be found, the only thing that they found was the stones.
The morning of June 5, 2022, the long-awaited call to the Lincoln County sheriff’s department arrived that Ryker had been found alive and safely inside a shed according to the Today, 2.4 miles away from his house in Lincoln County. The shed was located along a structure of road called the PineRicth road and it was across the county line in Sanders County. Ryker was returned to his parents after they found him and took him to get checked up.
