Previously in The Summer I Turned Pretty part 2, we see the development between Jeremiah and Belly’s relationship and them going to the same university, and we also see Conrad moving to Boston to pursue his career as a doctor.
Belly and Jeremiah have been dating for 4 years. They started dating her senior year of high school, and she is currently in her junior year of college. Their relationship was like a dream couple. One day, they went to a college party where she met Lacy Barone, and Jeremiah immediately took Belly away so that she could avoid talking to her. Later that night, Belly had gone to the bathroom. While she was in there, she heard Lacy and her friends talking about how Jeremiah was so hot and how Lacy was so lucky for being able to hook up with him in Cabo. Jeremiah had gone to Cabo during spring break while having an argument with Belly the whole trip. Once Belly heard them saying that Jeremiah hooked up with Lacy she ran out of the house and ignored Jeremiah when he tried to asking what was wrong once they were outside Belly asked him if it was true that he cheated on her with Lacy when he confessed Belly immediately slapped him across the face then she asked him how many times after he tried to say that it didn’t mean anything and he said twice and Belly slapped him again and told them they were done and left running back to the dorms. A week went by, and Belly had been ignoring Jeremiah all week, not answering his calls or texts. Until one day she saw him outside the hospital waiting for her, and when he saw her, he immediately apologized and got down on one knee and proposed to her with a tiny diamond ring, and she still said yes.
A month passed by, and it was going to be Susanna’s memorial. That was the day Belly and Jeremiah thought of telling everyone about their engagement. Belly only accepted because she thought Conrad wasn’t going to be there. The day of the memorial Belly was holding hands with Jeremiah talking to their families when Conrad appeared out of nowhere and drew Belly’s attention all that was going through her mind is the christmas moment where they both saw each other after months while still holding hands with his brother when everyone finally noticed Conrad they all greeted him with a hug, but Conrad and Belly kept making eye contact until Adam (Conrad and Jeremiah’s dad) had to ruin the moment by telling Conrad to hug his little sister (Belly), making the tension awkward after the hug they were still looking at each other until Jeremiah noticed and grabbed Belly. A few hours go by, and the whole family is having dinner together at a fancy restaurant. Adam had said to order the most expensive dish because the bill was on him. But then Laurel told him not to worry that she had it covered, hearing that Adam immediately ordered the most expensive dish, and Jeremiah did as well, not caring if Laurel had enough. Unlike Jeremiah, Conrad noticed the facial expressions on Belly and Laurel’s faces after Adam and Jeremiah ordered the most expensive dish. So he ordered the cheapest one. Once the waiter left Belly announced how her and Jeremiah were going to get married and everyone laughed and thought it was a joke but once they saw they were serious they immediately said no and started to say if they wanted go into the next step move in together or adopt a dog but when Belly mentioned Jeremiah had gotten her a ring, Adam immediately made fun of how was Jeremiah going to buy a ring without any money. Even though everyone told them not to go through with the wedding, they didn’t listen and left the restaurant. A couple of weeks went by, and Belly and Jeremiah’s parents were still not okay with the wedding, so Belly had to plan it all out by herself because Jeremiah was too busy working. Even though Conrad was still in love with Belly, he helped her plan out the wedding and helped her pick out decorations for the venue. And did more than Jeremiah had done. It was a week before the wedding when they all decided to have a bachelor party for Jeremiah and Belly. During Jeremiah’s bachelorette, he was bragging about how he cheated on Belly, but once Conrad heard, he wanted to punch him, but he was too drunk and started to say how lucky he was for his new career. Meanwhile during Belly’s bachelorette she was drinking when a song started playing and brought her back memories of her and Conrad so she ran to the bathroom crying and Taylor ran after her saying that this was going to be her dream wedding and she was getting married to the love of her life but Belly said no, this was not her dream wedding that she had only pictured herself marrying Conrad…
