Previously on ” Summer I Turned Pretty”, we see the slow progress between Conrad and Belly’s relationship and how Belly kissed Conrad on the beach while being in a relationship with Jeremiah.
Once on the way back to the beach house, Belly admitted to Conrad that she was in a relationship with Jeremiah. Conrad was shocked by the news and asked her if she had feelings for him, to which Belly said, “Being with you is all I’ve ever wanted,” to which Conrad responded with “Then be with me.“ Once Belly and Conrad got to the beach house, they got caught walking in holding hands by Susanna. She instantly grew a smirk on her face and told them, “ I knew it.” Then Belly let go of Conrad’s hand and made her way upstairs to Jeremiah’s room. Once she got to Jeremiah’s room, Jeremiah jumped out of bed to go hug her and sat her down on his bed. While Belly was sitting down Jeremiah grabbed her hands and told her “ I think we should tell Conrad about us” after he said that Belly admitted to Jere that she had kissed Conrad on the beach in which Jeremiah got mad at Belly and told her while clapping “ i’m happy it finally came true for you Bells I guess I was just a distraction until Conrad finally noticed you, Its not like my mom has cancer” and then kicked her out of the room. This becomes one of the first guilt-tripping tactics we see from Jeremiah.
Later on in the season, we see Conrad and Belly spending Thanksgiving and Christmas together. This causes Jeremiah to tell Conrad that he doesn’t want to see them together and to tell him when she is coming over so that he won’t be there. Further on, we see Conrad taking Belly to her prom while still struggling with the thought of his mom not beating cancer. This caused him to forget Belly’s corsage and why he told Belly he needed to catch his breath outside for a minute. Belly completely mistook the situation and started to pick a fight, causing them to break up that night. A bit after the breakup, Susanna passed away, which made Belly and Conrad see each other again after months during the gathering of the funeral. At the funeral, Belly didn’t see Conrad anywhere, which made her want to check his room to go look for him. Once Belly got to the room, she saw Conrad getting comfort from a different girl, which made her run out of his room, causing Conrad to run after her. They ended up having an argument at the bottom of the stairs. Belly tried to walk away but ended up falling because she tripped on the carpet, making Susanna’s funeral put the attention on her rather than Susanna and leaving Conrad in a bad place.
A few months go by, and Belly gets a call from Jeremiah on a random day telling her that Conrad was missing. Belly tells Jeremiah she will go and try to find Conrad with him, and leaves her house that night without telling Steven and her mom. Belly and Jeremiah went everywhere that they thought Conrad would be at but couldn’t find him. At last, Jeremiah and Belly decide to go look for him at the beach house. Once they stepped inside, they heard Conrad’s voice coming from the kitchen. Conrad was screaming at the phone, but instantly stopped once he saw Belly and asked, “What is she doing here?” to which Jeremiah responded by asking where he had been. At this point, Conrad tells Belly and Jeremiah that their aunt Julia wants to sell the beach house.
Following this, we see that Conrad, Belly, and Jeremiah try to get the house back. A few days passed before Aunt Julia came; once she arrived at Cousins. Jeremiah and Belly went to take her a gift, but once they knocked on the door, their cousin Sky opened the door, and Aunt Julia came immediately to the door and rejected their gift, and told them she was still selling the house. An episode later, their Aunt Julia and their cousin Sky went to the beach house because Aunt Julia was throwing an open house, but then the A/C ‘mysteriously’ broke. A couple minutes later there was a knock on the door and Belly went to go open it once she opened the door she saw the real a state agent that was doing the open house in which she asked Belly who she was and and Conrad stepped in and told her that Belly was his girlfriend and then aunt Julia came and told the agent that the A/C was broken in which the agent got upset with her because how were they going to have an open house in 100 degree weather. Ultimately, sabotaging the whole open house.
A little bit later, Aunt Julia came back into the house and told all the kids to go out while they came to fix the air conditioning. The guys agreed and took Sky with them. They all decided to go to the pier, where they could play laser tag and go on rides. Once they got done playing laser tag, they went to play a basketball game. Belly and Conrad were against each other when Belly won. Conrad suggested that she should get Junior Mint a sibling (the bear that Conrad got her when they were kids), but Belly remembered that Conrad only got her Junior Mint because he thought that the girl at the game stand was cute, so instead, Belly got the giraffe that she had told Conrad she preferred when they were younger. Once they got back home, they noticed all the furniture was gone. That is when Aunt Julia came in and told everyone she had sold the house. Everyone got mad at her, even at her daughter, Sky. A few moments later, Belly came up with an idea for what they could do as their last summer beach house activity. Belly shared the idea of throwing a party, everyone agreed on the idea, and went to buy drinks and party decor while shopping. Belly calls Conrad “Connie baby,” and Conrad immediately smiles at her, of they were having a little moment, until Jeremiah comes and interrupts them. Later that evening, once everyone arrived at the party, they were all having fun, and Belly and Conrad took a picture together. An hour later, Jeremiah and Conrad got into an argument outside because of their dad, then Belly came outside, and Jeremiah brought Belly into the argument to get back at Conrad exposing Conrad by saying “when sh*t got hard you dropped Belly even though you had asked for my blessing to be with her,” Belly was left shocked and left mad to the beach. After Jeremiah and Conrad finished arguing, Conrad went to find Belly at the beach. Once Conrad found her, Belly was drunk holding a bottle of liquor and about to be drawn into the ocean, Conrad carried her out of the water and Belly instantly started to ask Conrad why he would go and as Jeremiah’s blessing to be be with her and if she had told her that they could have fixed things and never broken up in which Conrad responded with “I thought you knew,” and said the same sentence repeatedly.
A day passed. It was the morning after the party, Laurel came early in the morning to the beach house to see Belly and take her home because Belly had been drunk and called her crying the night before and admitted to where she was. Once Laurel got there, she saw the mess of the house and went to Belly’s room, where she found Belly still a little tipsy. Laurel started to yell at her, which led to Belly talking back and getting into an argument with each other. Midway through the argument, Belly told Laurel how bad a mother she was, causing Laurel to slap her, making Belly go away and leave the room.
A few days passed by, and Conrad was heading up to Stanford with Belly and Jeremiah. Once they arrived at the school, Conrad left to take the test and left Jeremiah and Belly alone. Once Conrad was done with the test, he instantly called Steven to tell him the good news. Steven was happy for him and congratulated him and encouraged him to tell Belly that he still loved her. Conrad agreed, but once he got near the car, he was ready to tell Belly how he still felt, but then saw her making out with Jeremiah. Once Belly saw Conrad, she ran after him, and out of anger, Conrad told her to go because he didn’t want her anymore, even though being with her was his biggest wish. A few hours go by they were still driving up to Belly’s house once it started to pour rain they all stopped at a nearby motel and got a room Belly slept on the bed and both the boys on the floor once in the morning the sun shined right on Conrad indicating he was the light in her darkness a few hours later they were about to check out of the room when Belly returned and gave Conrad the infinity necklace he’d given her which he told her to keep it because he didn’t want it and it was hers either way. A few moments later, we see Conrad leaving the room and leaning against a wall while feeling sad and about to cry because he let the girl he loved go. Once back in Belly’s hometown, Jeremiah came to her volleyball game she had, and Taylor told Steven that she knew she would pick him, while Steven was shocked by how she picked Jeremiah over Conrad.
