Oregon’s coastline has many small towns with beautiful beaches. According to the Oregon State Parks article “Oregon Coast Trail,” the coastline is 362 miles long. The Oregon coastline is popular with travelers because of its beautiful wildlife along with many outdoor activities. Their gorgeous beaches top it all off, whether you’re interested in a quiet calm spot surrounded by nature or busy towns with many people and crashing waves. Thinking about traveling to Oregon’s coastline for a weekend getaway? Here are some stunning beaches you MUST visit.

Starting with Rockaway Beach, this town is a must-visit if you enjoy calm waters. It has a soft sandy shoreline to relax in, great for sunbathing or a picnic. In Rockaway Beach, there’s a beautiful view of the Twin Rocks in the sea: two giant rocks next to each other that are about 100 feet high and close to the shoreline. Some things to do on this beach include a scavenger hunt that takes around 2 hours to complete which may be fun with family and friends. Cedar Wetlands Preserve is also a nice place to explore in Rockaway Beach. It’s a trail located in the woods near the beach with huge and wide trees.

If you enjoy the peaceful sound of the waves at the beach, Manzanita is the place to go. It’s a very small town close to Cannon Beach. Although there are not many activities on this beach since it’s such a small place, the simplicity of going there to hang out and relax is worth it. No matter if you’re alone or with family and friends, it makes a nice getaway. Even going on a small walk on this beach is great with the firm sand.

Newport is one of the largest cities on the Oregon coast, with numerous visitors on the daily. It has many attractions and places to explore causing much attention for travelers to head that way. The Yaquina Bay Lighthouse is located in Newport close to the beach shore where you can go to get a good view of the city and beautiful beach. In Newport, where the Oregon Coast Aquarium is located, you can go visit the unique ocean animals. The NYE beach nearby is also a great place to explore, with the options of visiting the historical shops, dining and art venues, water activities like surfing, or the simple act of going to enjoy and chill on the beach to watch a beautiful sunset.

Lastly, Cannon Beach is a must-see when going to the Oregon coast. In the travel U.S. news article titled “12 Best Oregon Beaches” by Elizabeth Von Tersch, Cannon Beach is listed as the #1 beach in Oregon! It’s easily the most famous beach in the state. The beach is massive and has a huge rock called the Haystack Rock. This rock is more than 200 feet tall and attracts many tourists. Furthermore, Cannon Beach offers many things to do, including cozy 5-star restaurants and seasonal events. For example, every year in June there’s a sandcastle contest held. There’s also the Ecola State Park where you can enjoy a good trail on the coast, views of the ocean, and a lighthouse nearby! Lastly, Cannon Beach offers a nature art gallery and museum to show the history behind this beautiful town.

These are just a few of the most known towns that are a must-visit when heading to the Oregon coast. The coast offers many beautiful viewpoints with the addition of beaches, shops, food, and hiking trails. Millions of visitors from within the US as well as outside the country must make Oregon a bucket list place to see in their lifetime.
