The Seahawks’ Super Bowl performance was incredible! If you look at the stats of Sam Darnold and the Seattle Seahawks you start seeing all the signs that the Seahawks would make it to the Super Bowl they won the Super Bowl with 29 points pretty close to their average during the regular season games then see their average points allowed per game is 17.2, but New England only scored 13 points which is crazy if you think about it because their average points per game during the regular season games was 28.8 points. The Patriots allowed 11 points more than their average points allowed per game in the regular season, being 18.8 points. If you look at the individual stats, Kenneth Walker lll THE Super Bowl MVP, had more rushing yards than the league average. The league average in rushing yards per game is between 115 and 122, and Kenneth Walker had 135 rushing yards on only 27 carries! That’s very impressive, then on top of that, he had 2 passes for 26 yards, then if you take a look at Sam Darnold, he had 202 passing yards with only 19 completions out of 38 passing attempts, which is 50%. Incredibly, he threw that without throwing a single interception, which is really good. Then, take a look at their defense. They created a 52.8% pressure rating, which is the highest in the Super Bowl since 2018. They hit the quarterback 11 times, resulting in 6 sacks, 1 fumble, and a fumble recovery. Drake Maye also threw 2 interceptions, one ending in a pick-six. They also allowed 0 extended runs, holding a 46.4% DVOA through 3 quarters, becoming one of the best in Super Bowl history. Then you start thinking, “And, they’ve been putting stats like this in the regular season.” They went 14-3, smoked the 49ers in the postseason, and people were still doubting Sam Darnold’s ability to perform in the playoffs, but even with all the doubters saying he’s gonna fold, not only did he not fold in the playoffs, but rather, he brought home a ring for Seattle. You have to remember that it’s a team game, and the whole team is committed; you only tend to look at the people who actually played in the Super Bowl. For instance, the star wide receiver in Seattle, Jaxson Smith-Njigba, is seen as the wide receiver number one, but he barely saw the field during the big game because he had numerous things going on. For one, he had to go to the medical tent for a concussion protocol, and then he passed and got to play later in the 4th quarter. This is going to bring a lot of doubt into next season for the Seahawks because now that he has had his breakout season, he’s gonna produce less than he was before. If you take a look at the stats, they tell you that after one breakout season, a player tends to produce less than they used to. That leaves me with one more question: where are the Seattle Seahawks gonna be next season if Jaxon Smith-Njigba stops producing the numbers he has been?
