Fans described the album as having a feel of women gossiping about dating and toxic relationships. The album is primarily a pop and soft rock record. Her lead single on it, Manchild charted all over the world. The album cover to Man’s Best Friend created a lot of controversy and a lot of attention. Some criticized it as appealing to the male gaze in a demeaning way to women. Others saw the album cover as satire and a challenge to misogynistic expectations. Man’s Best Friend overall received generally positive reviews upon its release. Many fans and listeners praised the production and vocals of the album, but criticized the sexual and mature lyrics. And on December 24, 2025, she released a bonus track edition of Man’s Best Friend, featuring the new single “Such A Funny Way,” as a thank-you to everyone who’s supported her.
