From posting YouTube vlogs for fun to being labeled one of the most influential people and having her own overwhelmingly successful podcast and coffee company, Emma Chamberlain is one of the world’s most successful YouTubers, podcaster, and social media content creator. At only 22 years old, she had already gained a net worth of over 12 million dollars. She continues to thrive now, and continues getting more popular every day
Emma Chamberlain’s rise to fame began in 2016 when she uploaded her first YouTube vlog, which led her to have her own coffee brand, podcast, and be as successful as she is now. Before Emma began her YouTube career, she was just a regular teenage girl in Belmont, California. But even then, Emma knew she had a passion for creating online content. She was having trouble adjusting to high school, and her dad came up with the idea to findan interest outside of school she could confide in. This is when she launched her YouTube channel to find passion. She began going viral in the summer of 2017 as she posted her first vlog-style video. She started off with only 50 subscribers she has over 12 million.
She is still one of the most influential people to this day. Based on the opinion of many people, including myself, Emma’s been featured on Time magazine’s “25 most influential people on the internet” for her unique vlog filming style. She’d post authentic low-production videos about life, fashion, and everyday experiences, which was different from the fake, polished content that was popular then. This gained Emma plenty of attention. People loved how raw and honest she was in front of a camera. It made her videos more relatable, fans would describe them as updates from an older sister. Her popularity on YouTube gained her a partnership with Louis Vuitton in 2019. This was the first time a luxury brand as major as that collaborated with a content creator. Since then, Emma has owned the title of Louis Vuitton and Cartier ambassador. She’s also notably hosted Met Gala red carpet interviews for Vogue since 2021.
After posting vlog style youtube videos for years, Emma wanted to branch into something different. So in February of 2020, Emma began her podcast, “Anything Goes”. After launching, it quickly became massively popular and a people magazine choice award winner. Anything goes is about Emma’s raw, unscripted thoughts on a large range of relatable topics. She’ll talk about relationships, mental health, random stories from years ago, philosophy, fashion, and advice sessions. “Anything Goes” has been uploading for 5 years, and the reviews have been overwhelmingly positive. Viewers praise the authenticity, relatability, and comforting older sister vibes. Her advice sessions are something I love about her podcast, and my favorite. One of my favorites is an episode called “Don’t text your ex, do this instead,” uploaded November 16 2025. In this episode of Anything Goes, Emma gives advice on feelings that surface after a breakup. She gives her perspective as she has just gotten out of a relationship during this time, sharing how, after a breakup, it’s intensely tempting to text your ex. Especially in moments where you’re feeling overwhelmed and nostalgic. Emma goes on to explain how acting on impulse is the worst thing you can do in that situation. She then gives us resources to do instead of texting. For example, hanging out with family and removing visual reminders to reduce emotional spirals. Overall, this episode of Anything Goes is one of my favorites, and like any other keeps a personal and reflective but relatable mood. The way she shares general advice while showing parts through her own experiences, it makes it feel like chatting with a friend rather than your average “self-help” structure.
Frequently on her podcast, Emma accompanies herself with a cup of coffee. Specifically, one from her company, Chamberlain Coffee, that launched in 2019. It’s become a trend for influencers to make brands, and with Emma being so famous, people actually pay attention to whether her business does well. The media, investors, and the public see Emma’s brand as a test of whether influencer-led companies can actually succeed long term. At the end of 2024, Chamberlain Coffee stopped trying to grow fast and focused on making actual money. They cut costs, resulting in the company profiting greatly at the beginning of 2025. Another way Chamberlain Coffee profits is from its cafe location in LA. The company believes cafes help people discover the brand. The LA cafe is meant to bring in customers, sell packaged coffee, canned drinks, and also strengthen the brand. They expect the cafe to continue making good money, and a partner is helping pay to open more locations. Chamberlain Coffee mainly targets Gen Z. That’s why they mostly focus on canned drinks, flavored coffee, and matcha. These make up most of the sales.
All in all, Emma Chamberlain is one of the most influential content creators. With her Coffee company, podcast, YouTube, and large fanbase of loyal fans to keep her relevant to this day.
