He started experimenting with music production in elementary school with GarageBand and later progressed to Logic Pro X. He started writing music in middle school and in high school at LaGuardia High School in New York City. He often spent school sleeping in class or writing music on his iPad. He’s always produced and written his own music whenever he has free time. Sombr eventually dropped out of high school in 2022 to pursue music full-time after his hit song ¨Caroline¨ went viral on TikTok.
His musical tastes are varied, ranging from classic rock to artists like Lil Peep, Phoebe Bridgers, and he’s also a big fan of Radiohead. Sombr has always stated that women are a significant source of joy in his life, and much of his music is inspired by experiences with them.
