Junior H

Junior H

Antonio Herrera Pérez, commonly known as Junior H, is a Mexican singer and songwriter. He is considered an important artist of the Corridos Tumbados movement. He has also popularized the genre with his earlier studio albums. His music, which has a fusion of traditional and modern sounds, has come to captivate audiences worldwide.

Junior H was born in the municipality of Cerano, Yuriria Guanajuato, Mexico on April 23, 2001. When he was 12 years old, he and one of his friends began to write lyrics since they didn’t know how to play any instruments at the time. Once he reached the age of 15, he left Cerano as his family moved to the United States – to the state of Utah. At the age of 17, he started working as a chef at a local Wendy’s restaurant while in high school. During this time, he learned to play different instruments whenever he could. He learned to play these instruments by watching videos on YouTube, some of them being the guitar and accordion. One day, Junior decided to upload songs on a YouTube channel that he had already made under the name “Junior H.” He did this without telling any of his friends or family members. He spent a month without checking on his songs and one random day he decided to check on how they did. Junior saw that one of his singles, “No Eh Cambiado” blew up with over 2 million views and was full of positive comments. From here on out he decided to put more focus on his independent music project.

On February 2, 2019, Junior released his debut album Mi Vida en un Cigarro which included nine songs, some of his most popular being “No he Cambiado,” “Mi Vida en un Cigarro,” and “El de la Chevy.” Not too long after releasing his debut, he was contacted by Jimmy Humilde, which led to him joining the record label Rancho Humilde, where he met Natanael Cano. He is also a Mexican Singer and collaborated with Junior on the single “Disfruto lo Malo” on one of his accounts, Corridos Tumbados. That account also includes another popular song called “Ella,” a song that Junior had written.

Later in 2020, Junior released a second studio album called Atrapado en un Sueño which has some of his most recognized songs such as “Atrapado en un Sueño,” “Mente Positiva,” and “Jueves 10.” The album made it to the top 5 of the Billboard Top Latin Albums chart, this being Junior’s first charting in any album so far. Further on to the year on September, 2, he released two albums in one day: Cruising’ with Junior H and Musica <3 with both of them containing 12 songs each. A few months later he got together with Natanael Cano and Ovi, releasing the album Las 3 Torres which had 16 songs and featured artists Snoop Dogg, Ñengo Flow, and Snow Tha Product. He went on to release several other albums, being $ad Boyz 4 Life, Mi Vida en un Cigarro 2, Contigente, and $ad Boyz for Life II. He also collaborated on several songs as well, some of them being “El Azul,” “Lady Gaga,” “Luna,” and “Bipolar.”

Junior H is known for being one of the most important figures of the Corridos Tumbados subgenre. His incorporation of Latin Rap and reggaeton in his music is excellent. In general, his music is incredible and he has improved so much throughout the years.
