The offseason in the NFL is always full of surprises and misleading trade rumors. This offseason in particular has had some pretty big names being thrown around the block. I will be talking about 4 main players in this article Russel Wilson, Khalil Mack, and Davante. To start it off I’ll explain the Russel Wilson trade. In total, the Seahawks received 2 first-round picks, 2 second-round picks, one 5th round pick, QB Drew Lock, TE Noah Fant, and DL Shelby Harris. As for the Broncos, they received QB Russel Wilson and a 4th round pick. This trade means big changes for both teams. For the Seahawks, this really means they have to find some way to build around a quarterback that is very dissimilar to their old quarterback Russel Wilson. They will probably need to build up somewhat of an Offensive Line to protect their young quarterback and maybe even find some more receivers considering the fact that head coach Pete Carrol said he’s up for trading Wide Receivers Tyler Lockett and D.K Metcalf. As for the Broncos on the other hand they now have an elusive quarterback and they already have a decent offensive line. The only whole that needs to be filled in the Broncos’ offense now is their TE because they traded Noah Fant. Other than that the trade for the Broncos was very productive on the offensive side. As for they’re defending, they lost veteran DT Shelby Harris and they traded away multiple first-round draft picks so they might need to get someone from free agency. Moving into L. A Khalil Mack is the subject of today. Khalil Mack got traded to the L.A Chargers for a 2022 second-round pick and a 2023 6th-round pick. If anything to me this trade was very surprising. Khalil Mack was a top linebacker in the league 3 years ago. To trade him away for what they got in return just seems crazy to me. This puts the Chargers in a great position defensively. Their defense now consists of Derwin James SS, Joey Bosa ROLB, Khalil Mack MLB, Joseph Day DL, and J.C Jackson CB. That is one stacked defense. The Chargers are currently ranked 7th in overall defense by PFF. It looks like the Chargers are really trying to build a defense that can support their stellar offense. As for the Bears, it puts them down a linebacker leaving them with a 7-year veteran at the starting position. This trade might’ve secured the bears one of the lower seeds in the NFC North. Speaking of the NFC North there was also a big trade for the Packers that included Pro Bowl receiver Davante Adams. The trade deal was Davante Adams for a first and second-round pick in this year’s draft. The deal was done with the Las Vegas Raiders and boy does that put the raiders in a good spot offensively. This trade replaces the hole they had at receiver after losing receiver Henry Ruggs in his car incident. Davante will be the WR1 in Vegas and that will take a lot of stress off of QB Derek Carr’s shoulders having to throw to mediocre receivers all game getting a receiver like Adams. As for the Packers, it leaves them with a hole at the receiver position. They have Adam Lazard, Randall Cobb, and Chris Blair. No one knows if any of those players are ready to be a WR1 and I’d have to agree with them. This trade is going to create a lot more pressure for Rodgers because he’s going to have to make the same plays as previous seasons but without one of the best receivers in the league on his team to help out. Overall that’s kind of the major trades that have happened so far in Free agency and I’m excited to see what trades may come along the road.Free Agency In the NFL
