Can money buy happiness? Everyone thinks about this at some point in their life. This is a question debated a lot, and it’s a bit silly but also a little complicated. Of course, money can’t buy happiness… right? I think it depends on a lot of things and who you are as a person. The answer depends on your goals and your background.

Some people say that money can indeed buy happiness. Some people haven’t had a lot in life, so when they get their hands on money, it can feel like happiness. If you never had food growing up, having money to buy food could make you happy. If you didn’t have a good bed or a house, having the money to buy it could bring you happiness. Other people just like having money and it has nothing to do with their background. For example, when I get paid I get happy. Why wouldn’t I? I can buy things! Previous studies have also shown that when you have about $75,000, you’re happier than other people. This shows that a certain amount of money can indeed make you happy. This happiness is temporary though. If I had a bunch of money I’d never be anything but happy! I could buy really fun things like a pool, and theoretically, I’d have no problem taking care of it. I could buy a pool cleaner and all of the supplies easily. After I get bored of a pool I could buy something else amazing. Another thing to add is that I could buy tickets to go anywhere in the world I want, which is pretty amazing! Some people might not think that this is enough to buy happiness, they think you need relationships with people to be happy. Well, with money you could just buy friends. They could come over and pretend to care about what I’m telling them and I’ll pay for it. (Disclaimer: this whole paragraph is a joke). In conclusion, if happiness is an object or something physical for you, then money can buy happiness.

Depending on your background, you’d know that money can’t buy happiness. If someone grew up homeless, people might be your source of happiness because that’s all you had growing up. Maybe you had bad relationships with people growing up, so having good relationships could bring you happiness.

Other people might say that money is no good if you don’t have relationships with people, you’d have no one to make memories with. The downside with having a bunch of money is that almost everyone around you would be faking to be your friend because you have money. People are crazy and fake being your friend sometimes anyways, so why wouldn’t they fake being your friend if you have something they want?

Sometimes happiness is a goal, such as having kids and a big family. While you don’t get this from money, money helps. If your goal is to master skills, money can help but not give you the skill. Sometimes earring money is your goal, but you do that, not the money.

In conclusion, the answer to the question, “can money buy happiness?“ is subjective and complicated. Personally, people are my happiness, but money can help. I think that money can only buy happiness for a little bit, not permanently. The answer to this question depends on your personality, background, and goals.
