A fashion designer is someone who sketches clothes by looking at trends and coming up with something new. There are some designers who only sketch, pick out fabric and trimmings for their designs and other people will actually make it. In other cases, the designers have to make their own designs if they don’t have enough money to pay someone to make it. A fashion designer can create many things, such as clothing, accessories, shoes, and much more. They don’t stick to just one thing unless they specialize in it. A designer can be any age, and their age can range anywhere from as young as 15 to as old as 80. They just have to believe in themselves to become great and create something great.

To get a really good job for a fashion designer, it’s recommended to go to a school that will teach you about fashion history, colors, textures, and the necessities for becoming a fashion designer. Some good schools that are great for learning about fashion design are Savannah College of Art and Design, Accademia Costume & Moda, Central Saint Martins, and Donghua University. Going to school for fashion design is quite expensive for some people, especially since some of the best schools are not in the United States. The thing about becoming a fashion designer is you don’t need to go to an expensive or popular school even if it is recommended. One thing about being a fashion designer is being creative and school isn’t something that can teach you to be creative, it should come naturally.

Creativity can be inspired by everything around you the streets, magazines, fashion shows, tv shows, movies, food, flowers, animals and anything can spark creativity. Some of the most popular fashion shows are Paris Fashion Week, New York Fashion Week, Milan Fashion Week, London Fashion Week and there are so many more fashion shows around the world that can spark creativity. There are also tv shows and movies that have amazing fashion choices that are unique. For example, Killing Eve, Euphoria, That 70’s Show, Scandal, The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, Gossip Girl, Pretty Little Liars, and many more options. Although some of these options might not spark creativity, that’s totally okay, because not everyone is going to have the same inspiration. So a tip for finding creativity is to look around the world and see what catches your eye.

New fashion designers don’t always have it easy when it comes to their job because they tend to go through several struggles.  One of those struggles is having little to no money for starting their business or getting hold of materials for their designs. They also might not be having very good distribution luck, such as not being able to put the creations in shops or the creations just not being sold. Finding a great producer to make the design, because it’s not cheap and also the producer has to be very good at making the design exactly how the designer wanted it. Regardless of the fact that fashion designers do struggle, they just gotta keep trying their best and keep designing because they’ll eventually get somewhere.

Becoming a fashion designer means having to be determined and passionate about your designs and yourselfs. Even though they’ll have obstacles, the only thing stopping them from overcoming those obstacles is their own dedication to become greater. Therefore, what it takes to become a fashion designer is always gonna be up to the designer and how they go through and handle their journey.
