As I sit here, watching The Advocate’s diligent writers type away, working hard on their articles for this, the last edition of the school year, I can’t believe that this year has already come to a close. It seems like only yesterday we published the first edition as a class instead of a club, yet here I sit, preparing to say goodbye to the Senior class of 2019 and publish our last edition.

I’m so thankful for all the opportunities this year has presented me. As Editor of the Feature and Opinion section, I grew as a leader, writer, editor, and journalist. This year has allowed me to forge new friendships with my fellow editors, and I can’t believe that it’s already time to say goodbye and step into my new role as Editor in Chief of The Advocate.

I can’t wait to help The Advocate grow next year. While I am so sad to see our current editors leave, I am excited to take charge as The Advocate steps into a new stage and allows more students the opportunity to be heard.
