Amelia Earhart was an inspiring woman in her time and still is today. Having a woman fly across the Atlantic ocean and succeeding was a big accomplishment for Amelia and was an eye-opener for society. Many were shocked by the fact that a woman could be such a successful aviator. She was known for having an adventurous spirit, being very influential, and being a dreamer. Amelia was truly an inspiring woman for other pilots, women, and men. Amelia also got a lot of hate for being a woman that liked flying because it wasn’t a lady-like but that didn’t stop her from achieving her goals.

Earhart was invited to fly across the Atlantic ocean in 1928 and was accompanied by pilots Wilmer Stultz and Louis Gordon as passengers in the “ Fokker Friendship”. Amelia became recognized as a pilot after being able to cross the Atlantic ocean on May 1932. Throughout her flying journey, she never considered herself above anyone else just because of her accomplishments throughout her life. Instead of bragging about her accomplishments, she encouraged others to get out of their comfort zone and try new things.

Amelia also became well known for her adventurous spirit and also being very influential. Earhart always wanted to set an example for other pilots, especially women. She wanted others to know that achieving your goals was possible no matter the gender. She wanted to know that she was capable of doing things that no one thought could be possible, such as flying across the Atlantic ocean. She knew that the more she accomplished, the more women would believe in themselves and stop caring about what society had to say. She became influential and gave a lot of people more confidence in themselves.

Amelia didn’t let other people get in the way of her success and made others see that no matter what gender you are you can reach your goals. She made others see that you can accomplish anything and still be humble about it. Amelia’s concern was accomplishing her dreams instead of worrying about what society thought about her being a woman flying a plane. The message many received was that if you let others get in the way then you’ll never be successful when it comes to accomplishing your goals.

Amelia was always doubted by people who never saw her potential. Getting told that flying wasn’t a woman-like hobby that wasn’t going to get her anywhere made her realize that she had to try her hardest to accomplish her goals. She showed others that women could be as successful as men. She always wanted to empower others. Her goal was to show that everyone is equal and can do extraordinary things.
