After recently going to the best concert of my lifetime, Tyler, The Creator, I’ve realized the best decision I’ve made was taking the risk and buying the concert tickets. I hear people all the time saying they don’t want to spend a lot on a concert ticket, but I think it’s truly worth it. Tyler has been one of my favorite artists for the longest time, but I was still hesitant to drop that much on a concert ticket. However, I did, and it was the best night of my life. The energy was up the whole night and was definitely worth that much money.
I’ve been to some other small venue concerts, outdoor concerts, and stadium concerts. I think they are all worth going to. My first concert was with the band Caamp. They are a folk indie band that played at Edgefield during the summer. It was pretty good, I didn’t know a lot of their music, but it was my mom’s favorite band, and she offered to take me. It had a nice vibe since it was a hot summer day, and it was outside. I would say outdoor concerts are mainly for the energy, a lot of them are cheap, and are just a good experience for the summertime. They are also a good way to expand your music taste and listen to new stuff.
I’ve been to some stadium concerts like Leon Bridges and Olivia Rodrigo as well. One of my friends had a couple of Olivia tickets and offered to take me, even though I didn’t know much about her new album. It was a really good concert because she played some songs from her older album, which took me back a couple of years. Leon Bridges was my second concert, and he sang one of my favorite songs, “River.” It was a great experience because his music is so good live. Stadium concerts are on a different level from outdoor concerts. The production and the volume are so much more intense, and are for sure my favorite. Another part of stadium concerts that I absolutely love is the backup dancers at the concerts. They are always so good and make the show so much better. The dancers for Olivia Rodrigo were so good and were very involved in her performance, I loved it so much.
I also went to a music festival last summer in Bend that was so cool and a completely different experience from any other concert. It was a rock/folk festival, and the headliners were Caamp, Billy Strings, and Kacey Musgraves. They changed the original headliner to Kacey Musgraves, so I wasn’t super excited about that. However, they also played the Black Pumas, The Red Clay Strays, Shakey Graves, and The War and the Treaty. Those were the only things that I was excited about, but there were so many more. It was over three consecutive days and was so exhausting, but so fun.
Overall, I think concerts are the absolute best and anything with live music. I think you should always take the risk and buy the ticket if your favorite artist comes to town. It is so much better than listening to music through your headphones because of the high energy and volume of the live music. Overall seeing your favorite artists put on a live performance is one of the best things you could spend your money on. So buy the ticket and make amazing memories!
