By now, you might think you have gotten the hang of keeping balance in your life. It can be managing your life, goals, plans, and relationships. It can be difficult when you have to take control of your life, especially when you’re reaching a certain moment in your life where you have to adapt and grow. Being a teen isn’t easy, but everyone gets through it. How exactly did I manage to balance my studies and life outside of school without struggle and stress? Undeniably, I went through some stress throughout my sophomore year, but I managed to keep myself intact in the end. It is important to stay positive.
Many things can get in the way of your life that can be stressful. If you’re one of those people who struggle with social interactions and confidence, you’re okay. I used to dislike raising my hand to ask questions, especially when I thought I would have been made fun of for what could have possibly been a “stupid” question. In reality, asking questions can be beneficial to your knowledge but also, at the end of the day, nobody will care if you ask a question. To make it better, there is a high possibility somebody else had that same question, and you just saved them the time! Also, communication is key. Talking to others is something a lot of people struggle with, it can be viewed as embarrassing, but have you considered how a simple conversation can help someone improve their communication skills and motivation? People I have known my whole life have told me about an embarrassing moment in their life and its effects on their behavior and memories. It can be saying something very out of the ordinary, tripping, falling, or getting humiliated by someone. Yes, it is very embarrassing for you, but what about other people? Everyone is doing their own thing and living their lives. There is no knowing if they care, but stay reminded that they are also people with feelings. They will move on with their lives even if you think they won’t. It can be haunting for you, but it won’t matter to them after a couple of days.
Speaking of days, being at a certain moment of your life can mean stressing over your overall plans. Are school grades stressing you out? What about your life at home? When I was a sophomore I focused on staying at a great pace, meaning to keep everything manageable. This also meant to be in charge of everything manageable and controllable in your life. For example, I only focused on work that was easy and possible to do, even if I struggled with the topic. I was always told it is great to make an attempt rather than not trying to give yourself a chance. Giving yourself up is not the same as lacking motivation, so what if you don’t feel like working? Giving yourself breaks is something that can help you relax, even if many people think you should do your work at the very second to get it over with. It’s not good to procrastinate, but why do you do it? Everyone has a reason they procrastinate, so why not find out why you do? Getting rid of your worries is satisfying, so it’s great you deal with your problems and manage how to further lessen your mind full of negative thoughts. Making a list is also helpful, though it personally never helped me. Everyone has a different set of motivations, so maybe setting up a room for yourself or staying after school is the right choice for you.
Overall, it’s a great thing to remind yourself that you’re not alone and that it’s possible to get through the year even if the road is clumpy and frustrating. Remember to ask for help and take advantage of things in your life that are manageable to you, rather than those unavoidable problems ruining your schedule. Focus on the things that you can handle.
