Ways To Deal With Anxiety

Anxiety is a mental health disorder that the majority of people deal with. There are people who deal with it differently. Anxiety happens when you are going to work, school, or have an exam or presentation. It is the feeling of nervousness or fear, and it’s a normal reaction to stress. It can happen when trying something new like riding the bus or talking to new people. Anxiety is a common mental disorder that affects women more often than men. There are many different types of anxiety. One is called Generalized Anxiety Disorder, which is worrying about money, health, work/school, and family. This disorder affects more women and when it starts to get worse it can eventually lead to depression. Panic Disorder is another disorder that affects more women than it does men and it’s a panic feeling that suddenly attacks you. It is like a panic attack in that sometimes you feel like you are having a heart attack, dying, or losing your mind. People who deal with anxiety often don’t know how to deal with it or don’t want to ask for help.

The main thing you should do when you have anxiety is talk to someone you trust. It doesn’t need to be someone professional, it can be anyone, like a friend or family member. They also don’t need to give you advice or anything. As long as they are listening to you, it can be relieving. Another thing that could be helpful is breathing exercises. Sometimes when you feel anxious, it’s best to stop what you are doing and take some deep breaths. Or even taking time for yourself, and that can mean doing yoga or some relaxing exercise, or just regular exercise where you do a lot of movement while listening to music. It could be a good way to distract yourself from anxiety. Getting enough sleep can help too because it helps your body to relax.

Writing down your thoughts can help get them out of your head. Also, keep in mind the symptoms you feel when you have anxiety. For example, if you feel nervous, helpless, an increased heart rate, or trembling, you can try to calm them down before they get worse. The breathing exercise would be the best one to do especially if you are not able to do anything else since you could be at school, at a meeting, or at work. Eating habits can also help, sometimes eating enough vegetables or fruits can help reduce anxiety. Not a lot of people chose to go to the doctor to get treatment for their anxiety, but the people who do tell their doctor about it should keep up with their prescribed medication. Going to a therapist could be a useful thing to do especially if you deal with anxiety daily. However, there are a lot of people who aren’t able to afford to go to a therapist or don’t feel comfortable enough to go and talk with a professional. The ways previously mentioned on how to deal with anxiety are some that can help, especially for those who don’t like asking for help.
