The Twilight Saga is a movie series starring Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson. Stewart plays a teenage girl named Bella Swan and Pattinson plays a vampire named Edward Cullen. There are 5 films in this series. The first movie is Twilight, directed by Catherine Hardwicke and came out November 21, 2008. In the first film, Bella moves to Forks, Washington from Arizona, where she meets Edward in her biology class. Later into the film, Edward and Bella grow closer as Edward seems more attracted to Bella’s blood, although he doesn’t drink blood like other vampires. Edward feels something different about Bella because he can’t read her mind like he can with others. They fall madly in love but the fun is eventually ruined when Bella becomes the target of a group of hostile vampires. Edward’s family protects her and keeps her safe (DenofGeek). Although this is barely the first movie it helps cover the start of the story. Twilight is one of those movies you need to watch to understand the rest of the series. Some people may consider Twilight weird but something about it is super addicting. The first Twilight movie is ranked at number 3.

The Twilight Saga: New Moon is the second installment of The Twilight saga. New Moon came out in 2009 and was directed by Chris Wietz. At the start of the film, we see Bella’s dream where she is envisioned as an old lady, and next to her is her vampire boyfriend, Edward, who is forever young. Later on in the movie, Edward’s family hosts a birthday party for Bella at their house. While Bella is unwrapping her presents, she receives a paper cut from one of the presents. Jasper, Edward’s foster brother, then gets overwhelmed by Bella’s blood and attempts to attack her. Due to this, the Cullens decided to leave Forks, leaving Bella severely depressed for months. After Bella and one of her friends see a movie, Bella approaches a group of bikers and decides to ride with one of the guys in the group. In the middle of the ride, Bella envisions seeing and hearing Edward. She realizes that dangerous activities provoke Edward. Towards the end of the movie, there was some miscommunication making Edward believe Bella has committed suicide and suggests that the Volturi kill him. He threatens to reveal himself to humans during a festival in Italy. Edward’s sister Alice returns to find Bella alive and takes her to Italy with her. Edward and Bella reunite but the Volturi are upset since they do not allow humans to know about vampires and determine that Bella should either be killed or transformed into a vampire. After a long vote, Bella has been voted to transform into a vampire. This movie had lots of ups and downs, it was probably the best film out of the whole saga so that is why it is placed at number 1.

The third installment of The Twilight Saga is called The Twilight Saga: Eclipse. This film was directed by David Slade and came out on June 24, 2010. There is a vampire who is building an army of vampires to take out Bella, making Edward fearful for Bella’s safety. Bella visits Jacob and during her visit, Jacob confesses his love for her and tries to kiss her. Bella furiously pushes him off and ends up with a sprained arm. Later, Alice has a vision of the newborn vampire army attacking Forks and this leads to an alliance between the Cullens and Jacob’s werewolf pack. They discuss strategy, meeting place, and training time. Later in the film, Edward and Bella camp up in the mountains to hide her from the newborns. Bella and Jacob discuss and Bella desperately begs Jacob to kiss her as she has realized she has fallen in love with him. Edward finds out about the kiss but isn’t upset about it. Bella later explains that her love for Edward is stronger than her love for Jacob. At the end of the film, the Cullens and wolves destroy the newborn army, but Jane says that Caius will find it interesting that Bella is still human. Bella explains the transformation date is set. Edward and Bella discuss their plan for their wedding and plans for the transformation, and they decide that it is time to tell Charlie, Bella’s dad, about their engagement. This was one of those movies that doesn’t catch as much attention as the previous ones, since it mainly focuses on the love triangle and protecting Bella. That is why it is ranked number 5.

Breaking Dawn – Part 1 is the fourth installment of The Twilight Saga. It is directed by Bill Condon. After Edward and Bella’s wedding, they travel to Isle Esme for their wedding. Two weeks later, Bella wakes up vomiting and realizes her period is late. Edward then tries to convince Bella to get an abortion but she refuses. They fly back to Forks, where Bella is found pale and underweight. Jacob argues with Bella to terminate her pregnancy but she doesn’t. Sam thinks that the baby will not have any self-management when it comes to craving human blood. They suggest killing Bella to make sure the baby doesn’t harm anyone, but Jacob goes against it. When Bella goes into labor, Edward, Jacob, and Rosalie perform an emergency C-section, resulting in Bella falling unconscious. Bella’s heart stops and Jacob performs CPR while Edward injects venom into Bella’s heart. Meanwhile, Jacob attempts to kill Bella’s baby, Renesmee, since he believes she caused Bella’s death. However, when Jacob looks into Renesmee’s eyes, he imprints on her. After two days, Bella’s injuries heal and her eyes turn blood red, signaling that she is a vampire. In my opinion, This film is one of the best movies but would probably be placed at number 4 since it mainly focused on Bella’s pregnancy and birth, and although it was exciting, there was no plot.

The second part of Breaking Dawn, The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn- Part 2, came out in 2012 and was directed by Bill Condon. The film starts with Bella being introduced to her daughter Renesmee. Bella finds out Jacob has imprinted on her daughter and becomes furious until Jacob explains he didn’t have any bad intentions. The Cullens and Bella decide to leave Forks to protect their identities. Bella’s father, Charlie, is desperately in need of an update on his daughter’s health, so Jacob visits Charlie and tells him that Bella’s alive and well but that she had to change to recover. He reveals to Charlie that he is a werewolf. Charlie then visits Bella at the Cullens’ home and accepts that his daughter has now chosen the life she wants to live and accepts her transformation. Later in the film, Irrina spots Renesmee in the woods and assumes she is an immortal kid, which is against the law in the Volturi. Anyone who is caught with an immortal child must be executed. The Volturi arrive at Forks to start a battle but Alice shares a vision where Aro is killed. This leads to Aro being scared. He excuses the battle and the Volturi leave upset. At the end of the film, Alice shares a vision of the future where Jacob and Resnesmee are a happy couple. The movie ends with a scene where Bella allows Edward to read her mind and see every moment they’ve had together. This movie is ranked number 2. It was super fun and it ended with a happy ending which Bella and Edward deserve since they’ve been through so much.
