Every single woman who is at a certain age has a menstrual period every month for up to 4-7 days. Having a menstrual period is a completely normal thing. Every single month, they’re going to have a period. Having a menstrual cycle can be very hard for women, and some are not able to get the products they need.

Women who have a menstrual cycle spend up to about $18,000 over their lifetime on buying feminine products. Buying feminine products can be a tricky thing because the stores may be out of what you need or they could be super expensive and you can’t afford them. I don’t think that we should have to buy tampons and pads because having a menstrual cycle is a normal thing and every woman has it. One box of tampons or pads alone can be about $20. The price can also determine what the brand is and if you’re getting a heavy flow, a medium flow, or a light flow pad or tampon. Per month women can spend between $13.85 and $20 per box. Almost 500 million people cannot access feminine products or hygiene facilities. Nearly half of the women in developing countries, 46%, have not been able to buy feminine products or food during this past year. Why should we have to pay for something normal, and that women get every single month?

There are a lot of women out there who are not able to take care of themselves while they’re on their menstrual cycle. If you are not taking good care of yourself while you are on your menstrual cycle, it can get messed up. You can have mood swings and you may not get your menstrual cycle for months on end. You have to eat right when you’re on your period and off it. You have to be able to know when your period is coming and have everything that you need to be sanitary and healthy. This is why feminine products should be free.

There are a lot of people out there who are not lucky and who do not have a good life or home life and are not able to buy the products that they need. If you are not treating your menstrual cycle correctly you can get an infection and have to go to the doctor, and you can even die from these infections. Also, the average woman would be saving up to $5,000 per year by not buying feminine products if they were free. It’s stressful and distracting to get caught without having a tampon or pad because if you start your menstrual cycle and you don’t have a tampon or pad, you would have to go to your closest convenience store and go buy something that you genuinely need.

It’s not women’s fault they have periods, and they should not have to go buy pads and tampons just so they feel comfortable, safe, and healthy. In conclusion, feminine products should be free because having a menstrual cycle is a normal thing when you are a woman, and these people should not suffer more than they have to from something they can’t control.
