One piece: Film Red is the most recent movie installment in the One Piece franchise, after the previous film, One Piece: Stampede, which came out in 2019. Just like the films before this, One Piece: Film Red includes a new premise based on the original story of One Piece. Unlike the previous films though, what makes this film stand out is that it introduces a variety of new concepts and content never seen before in any One Piece film. One piece: Film Red includes a lot of characters that have been shown before in the canon story of One Piece, but it also includes a new character that the creator himself created for the sake of this movie, Uta. This character is important to the movie as it bases a lot of the plot towards her character, such as her involvement in the story and her ties with some of the major characters, most notably the main character of the series, Luffy, as well as one of the most relevant characters in the series, Red Hair Shanks. In the movie, Uta is introduced as a beloved singer who uses her singing as a power that uplifts those who struggle in the world due to piracy and war. Uta’s goal is to achieve a new era of peace in the world, replacing the old era of piracy bestowed upon by the king of the pirates, Gol D. Roger. Although she uses her power for good, we soon come to find out how destructive her power really is. We find this out after her encounter with Luffy. It becomes apparent that Luffy and Uta have known each other since they were children. This is because of their connection to the emperor, Red Hair Shanks. Luffy explains that Uta is Shanks daughter, which shocks the audience that is present at her concert, considering that she hates pirates. This becomes apparent after shortly after being on stage, Uta gets attacked by a group of pirates, most notably the Big Mom pirates who were out to capture Uta, as well as having a personal grudge for the pirate Straw Hat Luffy after the events of whole cake island. They are easily subdued by Uta, with the powers of her singing, also known as the power of the sing-sing fruit. Shortly after this, Uta attempts to persuade Luffy into quitting being a pirate, in which Luffy naturally declines. Uta saw this as retaliation to her goal, so in response to this Uta captured Luffy’s crew and put everyone against Luffy and his crew. Throughout the movie, we see glimpses of Luffy, Shanks, and Uta’s relationship, and how her trauma turned her into the tyrant she is now. Once everyone finds out about this, they desperately attempt to stop Uta from using her power to essentially end the world, meanwhile trying to bring her back to her senses. Eventually though, they are too late in stopping her as she uses her powers to awaken a power demon using the power of her singing. At this point, Shanks finally arrives to where Uta and Luffy are, and with the help of everyone at the present location, puts an end to the demon and saves Uta from being consumed by evil. In the end, Shanks apologizes for neglecting her and Uta uses her last bit of strength to revert all the damage that was done to the people at the performance and finally, she sails away with shanks and the movie ends. Overall, although this might not be considered  a good movie to some fans (me included), others may argue that it is worth watching as it offers new content with both characters and other things such as fights and the music, which is one of the things I believe made this movie good and adds charm to the film as this movie includes original music that was made by a famous singer from Japan, ultimately leaving fans with a film that’ll satisfy their needs.
