Valentine’s Day just passed and the gifts were either the best or the worst. Here’s a list telling you exactly what those were, starting with the best.

  1. Food or chocolate

Receiving chocolate is one the most popular gifts during valentines day, and not many people have an issue with this as it’s delicious with how many types and flavors there are. If you wanna go to the next level of chocolate, you can get those $20 boxes or even make an edible arrangement with fruit, at home to make it extra special. There’s also food you can get for your partner and can be as simple as their favorite snacks or even get them a very fancy dinner.

  1. Spending the day or night with your partner

If gifts aren’t your thing or your partners, spending the day doing a favorite activity like baking, watching movies, having dinner, or even star gazing is a great replacement and you can do all of these without worrying about money. Spending the day with your partner also lets you have time alone to bond and continue to get to know each other better.

  1. Homemade Gifts

Homemade things are such adorable and amazing gifts because you know that the person who made them took time out of their day to make something with their own hands instead of going out to the store and buying you something so many  people already have. Also, you have no limitations or borders when it comes to making something homemade because it’s always gonna make different and unique than to what any other store bought gift looks like. You can make things related to food, clothing, accessories, drawings, a letter, anything you can imagine! In the end, homemade gifts are always gonna be extra special knowing you put extra love and thought into them.

  1. Meaningful Gift

Meaningful gifts and homemade gifts might have the similarity that they both come with extra love but meaningful gifts is kind of like the category and homemade gifts is the subtopic. Meaningful gifts can range from a simple and handwritten card to your loved one to even a gift they’ve always wanted or talked about. With that being said, size doesn’t matter at all for meaningful gifts because it’s the meaning behind it that counts, not the size.

  1. Flowers

Some people will say flowers are tacky and last minute gifts but in reality, they’re beautiful, smell good, and have so much meaning to them when you actually take time to look into them. Flowers have so many meanings to them and that’s what makes them so special. Flowers, like I stated before, are beautiful and make great decorations for your room or any other room.

  1. Household Items

Household items like blankets, clothing, perfumes, plushies and more items like those are great for presents when you know what they need. Household items are such comfortable gifts too because of how homey they are. You also can’t really go wrong with household items because they are so simple and you won’t have to tend to them like you would with flowers.

  1. A Store Bought Card

Don’t get me wrong, store bought cards are perfectly fine if you actually write something in it. If you give your partner a card without actually writing anything in it, it tells your partner that you put no meaning and time into it. You want to show your partner that you care and writing them a message in a card really shows that.

  1. Gross Valentine Candy

People love receiving sweets for Valentines Day but a lot of people do not like those tacky, cheap, and gross Valentines Day candy. Yes, i’m talking about the candy hearts in the little cardboard boxes. They are also a bit childish, so stick to the chocolate next time.

  1. Finding out your crush…

Asked someone else out, or gave someone else a valentine’s day gift is completely heartbreaking. You hoped and wished it was you but in the end it wasn’t and that’s one of the worst gifts you can get. Better luck next time.

  1. Gifts With No Meaning

Receiving a huge expensive gift might be fancy but it has no meaning which makes it less than the rest. For example, you decide to get your partner a new phone although they didn’t need one, it might be a great gift but in the end it has no meaning and isn’t sentimental.

  1. Forgetting/Nothing

It’s Valentine’s Day, you wake up with no valentines day text, then think nothing of it, you go and see your partner and they say nothing about Valentines Day. They completely forgot. Now that’s gotta hurt. It really shows that it was never a big deal to your partner and they most likely didn’t even think about it.

  1. A breakup text

The worst gift is a breakup text. Especially when there’s no reason behind it, for example, “I don’t think this is working out, sorry.”
