The Halloween season is approaching us, so that means that for the people that don’t go out trick or treating or to Halloween parties it’s a time to get cozy and watch Halloween movies, or if you just want to watch something, here are a couple of popular movie choices for the spooky season.

Johnny Depp and Winona Ryder in Edward Scissorhands (1990)

Edward Scissorhands – Edward Scissorhands is a very popular movie directed by Tim Burton, with a rating of 7.9/10. Edward is the creation of an old inventor, he has blades as hands. As an Avon worker named Kim comes up to the mansion where Edward now lives she finds him and sees that he isn’t dangerous so she takes him home with her. As time passes by there’s things he does right, but there are a few people who then decide to make his life much tougher than what it is by accusing him of seducing a woman and tricking him into doing burglary. After all of this disaster occurs, Kim is aware and confesses her love for Edward, he flees and is never seen again. This movie is one of my favorites, it’s very entertaining for any type of audience.

Dakota Fanning in Coraline (2009)

Coraline – Coraline is a movie with a 7.7/10 rating. This movie is about a girl named Coraline that moves from Michigan to Oregon and is beginning to meet new people including Wybie who gives her a button-eyed doll. Later on during the night, a mouse takes Coraline into a portal which then guides her to another world. In this new world, she’s living an entirely different life from the one she normally had. But in this world, her parents are “ button-eyed” and are much more caring about her and their lives. The new mom then offers Coraline to stay in this new world under one condition, that she has to have her eyes sewn on with buttons. Later on, she finds out about other kids who fell under the same steps as Coraline that led to this new and “improved world” and she decides to try and save them from the new evil mom who uses the ragdolls to lure the unhappy kids to this world. I would recommend this movie because there was a lot of moments of suspense throughout this movie.

Corpse Bride (2005)

Corpse Bride –  Corpse Bride is a movie with a 7.3/10 rating that is directed by Tim Burton. Corpse Bride is a movie about a young man Victor Van Dort and Victoria Everglot and they are going to get married soon because of their parents’ decision. As Victor notices and is told to be more prepared for his wedding he goes to a forest and practices his vows and uses the ring he’s supposed to put on Victoria and puts it on a branch. This takes a very quick turn as when he does put the ring on the branch a deceased woman’s corpse comes to life. The corpse’s name is Emily, and she takes Victor into this world of the dead. She thinks that he is her husband because he put the ring on her hand. Victor now has the big responsibility of finding his way to the old world where he came from and needs to tell Emily the truth about the entire incident and how he’s going to get married. I really enjoyed this movie overall the entire plot is very good.
