Concerts are an amazing opportunity to experience a live showing of performed dancing and singing. Concerts in recent years have been a hot topic due to things like the increase in ticket prices. For example, depending on the artist, tickets can be priced at up to $200-$400 just for nosebleeds. As a 17-year-old, I love getting out and hearing the music I enjoy in my day-to-day life. I have been to 6 concerts so far in my life, and I loved them all, but of course, I’ve had my favorites, and these are my three least favorite.
At my very first concert, I was around 5-6 years old, so honestly, I don’t remember a lot about it, but it was a Bruno Mars concert, and still to this day, I absolutely love Bruno Mars! I remember jumping around and bobbing my head to “Locked Out Of Heaven” and looking around at the family I was with, and being so excited. I went home with a poster and a tank top that was too big for me, but I was happy. Even though I love Bruno Mars so much and would do anything to see him live now, it is last on my list because I don’t remember a lot of it, unfortunately.
Fifth on my list would be City Morgue in 2023. In my freshman year of high school, I was more into acts like City Morgue, $uicideboy$, Zillakami, and more. The City Morgue concert took place in the Roseland Theatre, which was my first concert in a smaller venue, and it was also my first standing concert. It was a very high-energy concert in a packed venue. Now, I was 15 and afraid to mosh, and for context, this was the exact type of show where there would be moshing. I did not mosh out of fear, but I definitely got pushed around a bit and pushed some people. It was a great concert with a good setlist and a good opener. It showed me that small venue concerts can feel way more intimate. It was a different genre than what I was used to, but it was new and worth the experience to go to a concert of that genre of music at least once.
The fourth overall on my list would be The Arctic Monkeys’ 2023 World Tour. This concert is a little more special to me because it was the first concert I helped pay for, and I paid for my best friend’s ticket as a surprise. I went with my cousin and my best friend, and I was the one who reached out to all the parents to get permission. So, I kept it a secret for about two months. The story of all that gives it more points on my list. The actual concert was beautiful. It had a strong set list with a pretty stage. The ending topped it off because they played their last songs as a disco ball lowered from the ceiling, spinning, lighting up the room.
