In China, there are so many cool things to do. In Datong, you can go to the Hanging Temple of Hengshan, a beautiful temple on the side of a mountain, and not many people know about this place because of how far out this place is, and the closest town is 3 miles away, or 5 kilometers. An interesting fact about this temple is that it was built by a monk during the Wei Dynasty, also known as 386 CE to 534 CE.
If you like the tall mountains of this temple, take a look at the Hallelujah Mountains in Zhangjiajie. Very interesting name for a place. This place is a national park with mountains that look like giant poles jammed into the floor, and they are about 3,500 feet tall, or around 1000 meters tall, or 518 Lebron Jameses tall.
Maybe height is not your best friend, so we can take a look at Panjin Shi and its Red Beach, a very beautiful wetland recognizable by its vibrant red plants that cover the palace every inch of the way to the biggest wetlands in the world. I am not sure why they called it a red beach when it is a wetland, but I really can’t do anything about it.
Ok, maybe you’re not into all these open and crazy places, so how about we take a look at Shengshan and its small fishing village, Houtouwan. It is a magnificent abandoned town devoured by nature itself, all the houses covered in moss and at one point holding 2000 fisherman and their families, but sadly abandoned due to the lack of fish in the area.
So we looked at some places with not many people, but how about we go to a famous tourist place, the Forbidden City? It is very well recognized by its big walls and giant buildings that look like temples, it holds over a million employees serving their emperor, but now it a turned into a very nice museum that people can look at all the old items they had back then.
Another cool place is Tianmen Shan, also in Zhangjiajie, a long set of staircases leading to a big hole in a mountain, a super long hike, that takes up to 6 to 7 hours to hike, but is very worth the hike to look at one of the best views you will see. I will stop here and continue this series because there are many places in China, so I am probably going to be on part 30 of this series until I get through all the places. So, goodbye, and have a wonderful rest of your day or night.
