I’ve eaten weird food combos for years, and every time I mention them, everyone makes fun of me! I’m here to debunk all the flimsy arguments against why my food choices are strange.
What is deemed the weirdest food by my friends is ketchup on pizza. I love it, the tanginess of the ketchup, the taste of the pizza. I have ruined pizza for myself, I can no longer eat pizza without ketchup because of how good it is. People typically think the reason it is weird is “there are already tomatoes on the pizza.” And while that’s true, they fail to realize that those tomatoes are made completely different! One is sweet and has a tang, and the other is bitter and full of flavor. It’s like putting pineapples on pizza but way better because it isn’t completely sweet. No one complains when you put several different types of cheese on something, so why is it different when it’s tomatoes? People should just try it before they’re grossed out. People think ranch and pizza are normal so why is ketchup so different?
Another widely disliked food by my friends is my combo of jam and hashbrowns. Some people say the texture would be weird, and that’s fair, but if you can ignore the texture and focus on the taste, it’s extremely tasty. If you’d like to try it, I’d recommend strawberry jam. It’s a unique combo I stumbled upon by being curious and not having much else in the kitchen.
Milk and root beer are also extremely good. Pilk, which is milk and Pepsi, is good as well but root beer is the only soda I will drink, so I mix root beer and my favorite drink: milk. Most people I’ve asked don’t particularly like milk by itself because of the thickness but you can always buy 1% or 2% milk. If it’s the taste, then adding root beer actually changes the taste and makes the milk less intense in flavor. Very good to dip cookies in or use in cereal.
The final weird food combo that few people agree with me on is pickles with peanut butter: sliced pickles with peanut butter on top instead of apples and peanut butter. Pickles on peanut butter is a weird one where they enhance each other’s flavor but cancel each other out and taste a bit like nothing. If you want more flavor you can add it to a sandwich with turkey bacon which makes it even better but pickles and peanut butter have a very subtle taste that isn’t very strong but still nice regardless. Some people don’t like pickles, which is a crime in my eyes, but pickles and peanut butter don’t even really taste like pickles or peanut butter. It makes its own unique taste.
Out of all these food combos I defend ketchup on pizza the hardest, it’s my personal favorite and will truly enlighten someone.
