Gray rat snake: These snakes are non-venomous. They help manage the rodent population by consuming small mice, rats, voles, etc. They lay from 5 to 27 eggs in one clutch. They live from 10 to 15 years and make good pets.
Green anaconda: I personally love this snake because of its size. It is the largest snake in the world! It can be up to 20 feet long. These snakes eat fish, deer, dogs, sheep, reptiles, basically anything you can think of. They are non-venomous snakes and can live up to 30 years if taken care of correctly. Lastly, they can lay from 20 to 40 eggs.
Western patched-nosed snake: I like these snakes because of the shape of their heads. They have a fat face with a pointy nose shape. These snakes eat lizards, other snakes, reptile eggs, and small rodents. They are non-venomous snakes and they also don’t really choose to bite humans. They can be up to 3 feet long and live up to 20 years. These snakes can lay up to 10 eggs.
SRI Lankan pit viper: This species is mildly venomous. They do not lay eggs and they can live up to 25 years. They eat lizards, frogs, birds, and more. These snakes can be up to 2 feet long.
Ball python: I love the way that these snakes are. The colors and designs are very cool. The reason why these snakes are called ball pythons is because as babies, they like to roll up in a ball to protect their heads with their body. These snakes have 20 to 60 needle-sharp teeth that are curved backwards like fish hooks so you definitely don’t want to get bitten by one. These snakes can grow up to be about 4 feet long and can live up to 30 years. These snakes like to “hide” in corners since they do not like being around humans and even as adults they like curling up into a ball when they feel threatened.
Albino King Cobra (MY FAV): Other than the fact that this snake has a badass name like “King Cobra” – it just sounds majestic you know? – This snake is very rare and unique. It has a beautiful white or yellow color due to being albino. Even though these snakes look cool they are very venomous and can cause paralysis and even death if you don’t get the right treatment after this snake bite. They can grow up to 7 feet long and live up to 20 years. These types of snakes have very sharp and deadly fangs that are almost 0.5 inches long.
Texas coral snake: These snakes are not aggressive at all, they are very shy and secretive snakes. They live up to 7 years and lay 3 to 10 eggs in a clutch. These are actually some of the fastest snakes in the world. They are pretty small snakes. Although these snakes aren’t aggressive at all it’s still better not to be around them since they are very venomous snakes.
Corn snake: I personally like these snakes because of their color. Not only that but also because I can actually have this kind of snake as a pet. They are not venomous at all and can grow to be about 5 feet long. They can lay from 10 to 30 eggs. They can live from 10 to 20 years depending on how well the owner takes care of them.
Gaboon viper: I love the name of this snake. It makes me giggle. GABOON. These snakes are about 6 feet long. They have the largest fangs (5cm long) out of any snake and these snakes can have 50 to 60 babies at a time which I think is pretty insane. They are venomous and live from 13 to 15 years.
Blue coral snake: This is another snake where I really just love the name and the color of it. It’s a blue snake with an orange head. They eat other snakes which is a little weird to me. These snakes can swim. They grow up to be about 5 feet long and lay from 3 to 10 eggs.
Overall, I really enjoy writing about snakes. I wanted to show people some facts about different snakes so that they could see how different they all are even though it’s the same animal. They are all very special animals because of their uniqueness and different types of shapes and colors. I think that they are very cool and people should be more open to learning about them.
