Selena Gomez was born July 22, 1992, and raised in Texas. She is a famous singer. Her top song is “Lose You to Love Me.” She has around 65.2 million fans and a whole bunch of little girls and boys who look up to her. However, Selena Gomez hasn’t always been a singer. When Selena was younger, she was an actress and didn’t become a singer until later in life.

When Selena was 7 years old, she got her first acting role on Barney & Friends, in 2002. She stayed on Barney & Friends until 2004. From then on, she started getting more acting roles. In 2007 she started working for Disney. She got an acting role on the Wizards of Waverly Place TV show. She played Alex Russo on Wizards of Waverly Place until 2012.

Usually, when people think of her acting career, they think of Wizards of Waverly Place, however, she acted in a lot more movies and shows. In 2008, she played Mary in the movie Another Cinderella Story. In 2009, she played Carter in the movie Princess Protection Program, and in 2010, she got a role in Ramona and Beezus playing Beezus. Selena Gomez has acted in at least 40 movies.

In 2008 Selena Gomez signed a record contract with Hollywood Records. She then began working on her debut album Kiss and Tell. She released this album in September 2009. Selena Gomez also had a cameo in the music video for the single “Burnin Up,” by the Jonas Brothers, which was released in 2008. In 2012 she released “Stars Dance” and, in 2014, “For You”.

Although Selena Gomez’s singing career took off, she still was acting. In 2012, she performed the voice of Mavis in the movie Hotel Transylvania and in 2015, Hotel Transylvania 2. She also will be performing the voice of Mavis in Hotel Transylvania 4, which comes out in 2022. In 2019, she played Shannon in the movie A Rainy Day In New York. She also starred in the movie The Dead Don’t Die playing the role of Zoe.

The only thing that hasn’t changed throughout the years of Selena Gomez’s career is her heart. Selena Gomez is constantly working with different charities. She has raised 200,000 million dollars for charity. Selena Gomez works with  UNICEF the most. UNICEF is an organization that “works in over 190 countries and territories to save children’s lives, to defend their rights, and to help them fulfill their potential, from early childhood through adolescence.”

Although the newer generations see Selena Gomez as a famous singer, she wasn’t always one. She started off as an actor and worked her way up to being an American singer. She went from acting on Barney & Friends to singing in front of thousands of people. She went from being a little girl acting on a kids’ show to being the role model for little girls and boys. Even though Selena Gomez’s career has changed throughout the years, her heart and personality have stayed the same.
