All About King Von’s New Album
November 16, 2020
King Von was an amazing artist. Unfortunately, he was taken too early. King Von passed away recently on November 6th, 2020. He was just 26 years old. I will be going over his last album.
“I Am What I Am” is a song about what he is and what he isn’t. My favorite line in the song is “I am what I am, what I’m not, see, I’d never be,” which means he is what he is and what he isn’t is what he’ll never be, don’t try to change somebody just because you don’t like them. Let them be who they want to be.
“Armed And Dangerous” is a song about how he keeps to himself but yet people are still trying to get at him and cause trouble. my favorite line from the song is “I ain’t looking for no trouble, I’m just looking out for me” Which means to not go out there looking for problems just keep to yourself and look out for yourself, nobody’s got your back as much as you do.
“The Code” is a song about “ The Code”. “The Code” is a form of slang which could be explained in multiple ways, King Von raps about the code, meaning a swear or an oath to not snitch. When you get caught up in a jam, or the police catch you, remember the code which is: you don’t know anything, you didn’t see anything, and you didn’t hear anything. Or if that doesn’t work you plead the fifth. Don’t speak about anything that happened, this is what King Von speaks about when he talks about “The Code”
“Ride” is a song where King Von slows it down and talks about loyalty asking if his Partners would ride with him. one of my favorite lines in the song is “ Would you ride for me, Would you ride for me” This means would that person have Integrity even if he wasn’t there and it’s about knowing that he could trust the people around him. I think this is very important in a relationship, knowing that somebody’s going to have your back and they’re always going to be truthful to you.
In “Mine too”, The song is talking about how much weight is really on him and what he’s going through right now and opening up to his fans. For example, one of the lines on the song is “I got the world on my shoulders, Just wish my family was closer” Which means that Von is feeling very stressed and he wishes he could just talk to some of his family members. I kind of feel the same way sometimes, understanding that my family wants me to be the best way I can be but sometimes I just need somebody to talk to.
This is why I love King Von and his music. It’s so sad to see another rapper go. Rest in peace, King Von.

I like the article, it is robust in character, and works to clue the reader in to the meaning behind the artists songs, and why the writer likes them.
