2019 is the year for bicyclists in Oregon, with maps and bike stops being put up all over Tualatin Valley. 13 “bike hubs” have been installed in locations including Forest Grove, Gaston, and Hagg Lake according to the Tualatin Valley community website. Each bike hub includes a branded community sign, bike racks, a bike pump, a public work stand, a picnic table, and a printed map with information on where to find, restrooms, shelter, nearby drinking fountains, and nearby food/drink.

Each map contains the same 15 trails around the area including the Banks-Vernonia trail which runs a total of 21 miles with 721 square miles between all 15 trails. The trail system has something to offer for everyone from paved scenic trails to fast rocky trails. In between the trails you can find local bike shops such as Olson’s Bicycles and Ridge Riders Bicycle Repair.

In order to produce these trails and signs, the town of Forest Grove received a grant of $4,500 grant from the Cycle Oregon Fund of The Oregon Community Foundation. The Oregon community foundation in a foundation dedicated to improving lives in Oregon through charity and community causes.

Overall these trials will help the people of Tualatin Valley live healthier lifestyles.
