Meme of the Week #3

Soft memes, also known as emoji heart memes, is a form of meme that usually contains a character and a large grouping of emoji hearts around it, occasionally with affectionate text. It is unclear what the first “soft meme” was and where it came from, but the images have completely taken over the internet and social media; it is almost impossible to go on Instagram or Twitter without seeing at least one.

One of the more popular versions of the meme is of Kermit The Frog, the character being a meme himself. Many social media goers create their own versions by editing emoji hearts overtop of the puppet frog doing various things, some with text showing love and appreciation to a nonspecific person.

To say the least, soft memes have taken over every fandom and social media platform there is. The memes are here to stay.
