Letter From the Editor: Edition 1
Dear reader,
In the span of four months, I have watched The Advocate transform from a small club of dedicated individuals to an entire class– a new start. We are beginning this year with an incredible staff of 31 hard-working writers, which includes a team of 6 section editors who I have had the absolute pleasure of working with thus far. I’m incredibly excited to see what’s to come for The Advocate as this year as we will be publishing bi-weekly, and we intend on printing two special editions. We will strive to uphold our core beliefs as a paper this year in order to respectfully give a voice to the students of Forest Grove High School.
Everybody deserves a voice, and if we can aid in that whatsoever we will consider ourselves successful as a paper. A full list of our core beliefs can be found in the “About” section of our website. Aside from that, we hope you can find information, entertainment, and joy in the work of our zealous staff. Thank you to Zeke Roberts, Jordan Di Nocenzo, Jessie Shepard, Jessica Brewer, Lizzie Lohrer, and Jacob Kolb for working diligently to make this edition happen for the first time as an actual class. A final thank you to Dawn Nelson for helping this paper happen year in and year out. We hope this edition– and all other editions this year– can provide a marvelous reading experience and we appreciate any feedback. Feel free to leave (appropriate and monitored) comments on any of our 24 posted articles this week. Happy reading!
Sincerely,
Harley Tummond, Editor-in-Chief
