What is the most traveled to country? In 2024, this country had over 101 million people travel to it: the one and only France. Tourism boosted Frances’ GDP (Gross Domestic Product: is the total value of goods produced in a country’s borders over a specific time, normally a year) by generating billions of revenue, supporting millions of jobs, and adding to the balance of payments exports of travel services. To keep this boost in GDP, France must have some interesting things to keep people coming back, like historic cities, including Bordeaux, and Médoc wine regions.
France has been known for its food, one of its most famous dishes being Pot-au-feu. Pot-au-feu is a slow-cooked, tender beef with vegetables simmered in a flavorful broth. This dish is centuries old and symbolizes French cuisine’s soul, but this isn’t the only beautifully crafted dish they have to offer. Many people, when they go to France, eat ratatouille, crêpes, salade, nicoise, and crème brûlée, but you can’t have a meal without a drink, so some popular drink options are diabolo, which is syrups with water or lemonade. If you wanted something more elegant to drink, you could choose wine. Frances’ land has been used as farms/wineries since it has such deep soils and drainage for the grape vines to grow. The food in France is made with high-quality fresh foods that are beautifully plated; nevertheless, food isn’t the only thing that France has to offer.
They have many museums where you can learn about art, history, and even culture, along with prehistoric monuments like Lascaux. Despite this, you can still visit Paris (the most visited city in France) or Europe for a more budget-friendly stay. Paris is known to be the capital of two things: the capital of love and the capital of shopping. In Paris, you can go to designer department stores, vintage flea markets, other stores that carry brands like H&M or ZARA on the lower end, or places that carry higher-end clothes like Sandro.
If shopping isn’t what you would like to spend your time in Paris doing, you could cruise down the Seine River or go to a concert in a stunningly built church, or if you can find the hidden Roman arenas, then you can watch a game of boules. In this game, you take the metal ball (the boules) and try to throw it as close to the target (the cochonnet) as you can. Still, sports aren’t for everyone, but the remarkable views of the Eiffel Tower and the Paris skyline are. At night, when the Eiffel Tower starts to sparkle, the whole city starts to light up, sparkling with gold, making the whole city feel like it is glowing.
One thing that anyone of any age can do, family or not, is visit the Paris Disneyland. Paris Disney brings in a huge percentage of tourism in France, about 15 million visits annually. Disney’s name is already popular, and when you think of it, you picture “the most magical place on earth.” And being in Paris, you think it would be super packed and crowded, but there are only small crowds and even smaller ones at night. The ride lines are also short, being only 15 minutes or 45 depending on the crowd, instead of waiting 1-2 hours. The park is smaller than the regular ones in the United States, but it still has two parks that are within walking distance of the hotels. Paris Disney has a few differences from the other parks, like better tasting and good for you food, chillier kinder people, and different rides like RC Racer, W.E.B. Spider-Man, and many others.
On condition that France or Paris isn’t on your bucket list of places to go, maybe you should reconsider. With all the amazing sites and activities to do, you wouldn’t want to miss out on all the fun sites to see, like the Eiffel Tower, or the amazing food like ratatouille or crème brûlée. I know that France is definitely on my list of places to visit.
