- At number 1, we have tamales. Growing up in a Mexican household, this food definitely has to be the best. I grew up with it. We have it every Christmas year. I love tamales verdes.
- At number 2, we have arroz con leche. I love eating this at night when my family and I open our gifts. My mom makes the best arroz con leche. It’s very sweet and savory, with an amazing smell of cinnamon. This will always be one of my favorite desserts.
- At number 3, we have baked potatoes. My mother will be adding so many different condiments to these potatoes that it makes me not want to stop eating them. She adds butter, sour cream, bacon, green onions, etc. I love eating it by itself for sure.
- At number 4, we have cookies. I feel like cookies are just very traditional when it comes to Christmas, so you know I had to put it somewhere on top. I love that there’s always a different variety of flavors of cookies because it’s nice to be able to try different cookies. My favorite is definitely sugar cookies.
- At number 5, we have barbecue ribs. Me and my family have this every year as well. I love the flavor of it when we eat it with rice and add the baked potato. My mouth is watering as I’m writing this for real. My dad likes to add some mango habanero sauce to the barbecue to give the ribs a nice spicy but not too spicy flavor and it always turns out very, very good.
- At number 6, we have mashed potatoes. Although mashed potatoes are very similar to baked potatoes I still wanted to rank it because they just taste so similar yet so different. I love the creaminess of the potato and it just has a very good flavor to it.
- At number 7, we have pozole. Pozole isn’t typically my favorite but I still had to put it on here because I eat this every year with my family. I prefer pozole verde over pozole rojo for sure. I like eating it though when it’s like very cold outside so I think it is a pretty good Christmas food.
- At number 8, we have bunuelos. I personally love eating bunuelos with milk at night. It just has this very sweet caramel flavor and it’s so, so good. The color and the crispiness are just too good. I can’t wait to eat it for Christmas.
- At number 9, we have gingerbread. Gingerbread screams Christmas. I know a lot of people don’t really like gingerbread, but I honestly really enjoy it. It’s pretty good.
- Lastly, at number 10, we have chocoflan. This is a dessert that I really enjoy eating. I know I said I enjoyed other ones but this one is unforgettable. I love that it’s half flan and half chocolate. As sweet as it sounds it doesn’t actually taste like it. It is really good tho.
Overall, I enjoy all of these foods. Some might not seem so Christmas-like, but I decided to do this ranking based on foods that me and my family eat during this time.
