Wingstop is a super popular restaurant/fast food restaurant. They sell mainly chicken including tenders, wings, boneless wings, chicken sandwiches, sides of veggies, different options of fries, etc. They have 12 bold flavors and many dipping sauces, including their famous ranch. They first started in 1994 in Garland, Texas as a small buffet. They are known for their amazing food and great customer service. To this day they care most about the flavor and quality of their food. By 2002 they sold over 2 million wings. In 2009 they started to sell their boneless wings, and in 2010 they opened a location in Mexico. In 2016 the China locations were spreading quickly. In 2019 Wingstop started using Where Flavor Gets Its Wings as their slogan. Wingstop has grown significantly since 1994; they now have over 2000 restaurants worldwide. They are most famous for their chicken sandwiches, in fact, the sandwiches are most of their sales as of this year.
Antonio Swad is the founder of Wingstop. Although he is the founder, Wingstop has many owners today, such as Roark Capital Group. Rapper Rick Ross has many locations but gifted some to his daughters, former NFL football player Sidney Rice, and former NFL player Troy Aikman.
Wingstop also got sued last year (2023) in 5 different California locations due to underpaying 550 different coworkers. They all owed over 3 million dollars per location. Even though the workers were only getting minimum wage the owner still underpaid all the workers, the minimum wage at the time was $15.50. Lewis, the owner of the Wingstop locations owed the workers $190,741 in minimum wage violations. After this, all the penalties totaled over $1 million.
Wingstop currently (2024) has made $3.5 billion over the years. They are however in dept but only by $0.77. There isn’t an exact number of how much they make per day, all we know is that they almost 2 million dollars a year. According to “Glass Door” research only 50% of Wingstop employees recommend working there as a team member, and only some get a positive outlook on the job. Some benefits for team members include: paid time off, education can get renewed each year, medical dental, and vision insurance, flexible hours/schedules, and bi-weekly pay. However, that’s just for a team member, a manager’s benefits can include, career advancements, 401k, team member stock program, education assistance, increased PTO, paid holidays, and medical, vision, and dental insurance. Some employees have said things like they don’t always get paid right or they got treated badly or didn’t get all the benefits, however, this would depend on your boss, not everyone’s boss is the same.
Wingstop is similar to places like Buffalo Wild Wings, Canes, Chick-fil-A, etc. Even though they do have similarities they also have differences. Some may say Wingstop is better than all of them but also some may prefer something else. I personally like them all and they do have similarities. It all depends on your experience and your preference.
