La Liga is a well known Spanish soccer tournament where lots of teams play. During a game for the tournament, Barcelona beat Real Madrid 2-0. During the duration of the game, Barcelona had more possession of the ball than Real Madrid. They also had more passes than Real Madrid. Barcelona and Real Madrid had a really good line up with Barcelona’s Team a formation of 4-3-3: forwards were: Vidal, Messi, Griezmann. Midfielders: Dejong, Busquets, Arthur. Defense: Semedo, Pique, Umtiti, Alba. Real Madrid’s team line up was also a 4-3-3 line up. Forwards: Isco, Benzama, Vinicuis Jr. Midfielders: Valverde, Casemiro, Kroos. Defense: Caravajal, Varane, Ramos, Marcelo. To start the first half of the game Real Madrid has first kick-off. Isco gets a corner kick but doesn’t get anything out of it. So far Barcelona has had most possession of the ball taking their shots and passing. Caravajal and Alba got a yellow card and were booked. But I’m not completely sure why Alba is getting booked for it because Caravajal was the one that tackled him. After them getting a yellow card there were some more nice plays from Real Madrid. Vinicius makes a low cross from the right side to Bezema, who gives it a shot at Kroos for the first time from 25 yards. It has passed the top of the post and didn’t make it. Courtois makes a great save from Messi. It was a good tactic from Barcelona, with Arthur, Vidal, and Griexmann coming together before Messi made a low right footed shot from 15 yards that was then stopped by Courtois. Alba, who was booked earlier in the game, got away with another tackle on Valverde. The referee didn’t give a free-kick. If he had Alba might have walked. Barcelona was close to stealing the game from Real Madrid.

Griezmann, on the halfway line, played a pass infield from the left to Arthur, who charged away from Kroos and kept going, all the way into the area with Varane and Ramos nowhere to be seen. Arthur tried to shape the ball into the far corner, but Courtois stayed big and diverted it wide of the far post. Vinicius Jr. leads a Real break, charging down the inside-left channel. He gets to the edge of the area but then picks the wrong option, lofting a tame curling shot straight at ter Stegen. He should have tried to take on Pique or find a teammate. Messi misses a decent chance. He beat Varane to a bouncing ball on the edge of the area and hammered it towards the goal, but the shot was nowhere near the corner and Courtois was able to beat it away. Semedo beats Ramos on the right, surges into the area, and cuts the ball back for Vidal. His shot from the edge of the area is really well blocked by Carvajal. It’s all happening now. At the other end, Vinicius under hits a cutback to Isco in the area. That was a decent chance as well. Peep peep! No goals, but the match improved after a really scruffy start. Thibaut Courtois made an excellent save from Arthur and a decent save one from Lionel Messi. At the other end, Madrid got into some good positions only to pick the wrong option. Messi plays a give-and-go with de Jong, moves into the area, and hits a shot that is blocked. The ball rebounds to Alba, who wins a corner on the left. Lots of Barcelona possession at the start of the second half. Madrid looks content to play on the counter-attack.  Real breakthrough Benzema, who finds Vinicius on the left wing. He runs at Semedo, beating him on the left of the area, but his cutback is intercepted by the well-positioned Pique at the near post. Real took a short corner on the left, with Kroos and Marcelo moving the ball to Isco on the edge of the area. He bent a right-footed curler towards the far top corner, and ter Stegen leaped to his left to flap it behind. Barcelona was asleep at a corner, again. Benzema is having a terrific game for Real. Vinicius has also been a big threat, even if his decision-making hasn’t always been great. Real are really pressing now. Carvajal does really well to stand up across from the byline. Isco strains his neck muscles to plan a downward header that beats the diving ter Stegen and is blocked on the line by the backpedaling Pique.  That was a brilliant play from Carvajal. He charged through the inside-left channel, cut back on his right foot, and clipped a lovely angled pass to find Benzema in space in the area. He watched the ball carefully onto his right foot… and then volleyed it over the bar. Real appeal unsuccessfully for a penalty when Vinicius goes over under a challenge from Pique (I think). We haven’t seen a replay yet. It was Arthur who caught him, in fact, but Vinicius had already played the ball across the area and I don’t think that was a penalty. Arthur was the one who had caught him, but Vinicius had already started to play the ball across the field and it wasn’t a penalty. Sturgeon makes a great save from Sergio Ramos with his feet although if he didn’t get it it would’ve been offside and wouldn’t have counted. Braithwaite almost immediately scores a goal. Semedo on his side, curled a super long pass just around the defense and he bounced the ball off of Varane and then kicked the ball to score a goal but was saved by Courtois and Ramos that was then kicked out of the six-yard box. Just a minute after that there is a goal! Made by Vinicius. It was made by Kroos, who made a wonderful pass down the inside center that took out two defenders and then he saw Vinicius Jr. in that are and he moved closer to the goal then he side-footed a shot that took a big deflection off the sliding pique and beat Ter Sergen near the post. If Real Madrid keeps making more goals They might just get back at the top of La Liga, and get a point ahead of Barcelona. Messi runs onto De Jong’s pass, and for a second it looks like Messi is going to be able to make the goal. But Marcelo keeps staying on him and makes a tackle and when he sees that he got him, Marcelo celebrates by punching the air to the Real Fans. Casemiro has had a great game against Messi, not letting Messi have space. Three minutes of added time. Barcelona wins a free kick on the left. Ter Sergen comes forward, but Messi curls it straight into Courtois’ hands. Benzema is replaced by Mariano Diaz. Mariano scores immediately and seals Madrid’s victory. And that is the Game Real Madrid 2 and Barcelona 0.
